Bieg firmowy 2015

On the 16th of May, our company participated in the event called Bieg Firmowy [eng. Company run] www.biegfirmowy.pl.

This year over 3500 people participated in the event the income from which was donated to the rehabilitation of 9-year-old Wiktoria Urbańska.

Bieg Firmowy is a team relay race in which every participant has to run 5km. Eltron company was represented by three teams, each of them consisting of four people. Each runner achieved a personal success, overcoming one's own weaknesses and breaking their own records.

What is more, a family picnic was held after the run. Our stand served homemade cakes, bread with lard, cold drinks and coffee. We had flags and fans for kids. It was busy!

The next year we'll be even better prepared!

4x4 Rally Kamyki 2015

The fourth edition of the Kamyki 2015 off-road rally is behind us.

As with previous editions, Eltron company was one of the sponsors of prizes for the participants of the rally. Here is a short report:

The event took place on 25 April 2015 and was located, like last year, in Głuszyca quarry and the surrounding area. 60 crews have reported for the rally. They were divided into two categories. The Extreme category (no restrictions on alterations) consisted of 33 crews and the Stunt category (for cars without roll cages) of 23 crews. As always there was a ban on the use of winches.

The organisers had decided to increase the number of special sections in relation to the previous edition. In addition to the quarry and the mill special sections, the rally included the third special section, localised in the vicinity of an old uranium mine heap with a few interesting terrain obstacles.

Reaching some of the CPs (checkpoints) for the Extreme category involved a considerable risk of "rolling" the car. Therefore this time, for the sake of safety, each category included 50 independent CPs.

The record number of fans who came to see the drivers seems to be noteworthy. For many people who participated in such an event for the first time it was a big surprise to see what difficult obstacles the participants can overcome in their machines.

Both the participants and the organisers pointed out that the difficulty level has increased in comparison with the previous edition. New checkpoints were often a big challenge for the crews participating in the rally.

As every year, the event ended with a feast which took place in the Złota Woda fishery in Łomnica. During the feast the participants received commemorative diplomas and cups and the best crews in each category have been given prizes funded by our sponsors. What is more, the Fair Play prize was awarded to the crew which, according to the participants, saved them most often. This cup was funded by the mayor of the Głuszyca town, Mr. Roman Głód, whom we'd like to thank for helping us organise the event.

Finally, we should also mention a "small" incident, which surprised the participants, organisers and supporters. On one of the checkpoints wheels of one of the crews dug an unexploded bomb. Unfortunately, the organisers had to close the site with 4 quite difficult CPs.

To sum up, this year's event was "the bomb" ;-)

Car racing

Sales director Jakub Glasse

In our company Jakub manages the marketing departments. However, work is not his only passion. From a young age he has been interested in cars and raced in go-karts when he was just a youngster. With age, he started treating his hobby more and more seriously and our sales director has started racing in local events such as KJS, WLTA and BMW Challenge. What is more, the BMW cars became his favourite when it comes to racing. In the years 2010-2012 he was a champion and a runner-up in BMW Challenge, in the most powerful open class (cars with over 300 horsepower). It was still not enough for him, so he obtained a racing licence in 2012 and in 2014 debuted in the professional Polish championship WPP (Polish Cup Racing) with his 400 horsepower BMW E36 of 1100kg in weight. His debut resulted in a very good result as he was the Vice Champion of Poland (in the class of up to 3500 cm in capacity). This year the car was modified. A sequential gearbox was installed and the engine was modified as well. This year's plan is to become the Champion of Poland.
