With over 10 years’ experience in the design and manufacture of miniature camera modules, ST is a long established leader in this market with over 1 billion camera modules produced since 2002 and current manufacturing capabilities in excess of 150 Mu camera modules per year. ST has pioneered a number of advanced packaging technologies, including reflowable optical modules, and has also contributed to the standardization of module sizes now commonly found across the industry.
From the outset, ST applied strict semiconductor manufacturing principles to the assembly of the camera modules ensuring that the product quality was of the highest standard, making extensive use of clean room facilities and fully automated test machines.
