UV Index Sensors

STMicroelectronics' new family of UV Index sensors provides a direct digital output of the ultraviolet index (UVI), the international measurement of the strength of ultraviolet (UV) radiation.

Leveraging ST proprietary technology, UV Index devices are sensitive to UV waves  from UV-A (315-400 nm) to UV-B (280-315 nm) wavelengths that are of greatest concern to human health-related effects. The UVIS25 allows the measurement of the UV Index, without the need of a dedicated algorithm to calculate the UV Index and without specific calibrations at customer manufacturing facilities.

These sensors are used for UV Index measurements in wearable devices, smartphones, tablets, weather station equipment and many other emerging IoT applications.
