VARAN technology

VARAN (Versatile Automation Random Access Network) is a bus system based on standard Ethernet technology. Since VARAN technology is available to everyone, you can use the system freely and develop your own interfaces.

The system offers the following features:

  • Hard realtime data transmission
  • Automatic addressing
  • High fault tolerance
  • Hot plug-in (system components and modules can be replaced during system operation)

Phoenix Contact offers the following VARAN components:

  • M12 connectors for tree, linear, and star topology
  • Cables for transmission speeds up to Gigabit Ethernet
