ControlNet is used in applications where high data volumes with high data throughput are required. This means that you can transmit cyclic I/O data and simultaneously perform acyclic data communication for program upload or download. Through our ControlNet components, we provide support during construction and installation.

Your advantages

  • Flexible installation, as bus, tree, and star topologies are supported
  • Increased network availability, thanks to media redundancy
  • Network expansion of up to 25 km by using repeaters

ControlNet components: for coaxial and fiber optic conductors

Important note for process or production automation: with the ControlNet network you can increase productivity when transmitting time-critical application data.

Phoenix Contact offers a range of infrastructure and protective components for ControlNet. We support transmission paths with coaxial cables and fiber optics (FO).

ControlNet repeaters – for large network expansion

The PSI-REP-CNET modular repeater is specifically tailored to ControlNet. It enables you to increase network expansion and extend the number of devices.

  • High-quality electrical isolation between all interfaces
  • Supply voltage and data signals routed through the DIN rail connector
  • Bit retiming for unrestricted cascading of devices
  • Redundant power supply by means of optional system power supply unit
  • Can be combined with PSI-MOS FO converters in a modular way thanks to DIN rail connectors
  • Approved for use in Ex zone 2

ControlNet media converters: for interference-free networks

Benefit from the advantages of optical data transmission. PSI-MOS fiber optic media converters increase the overall availability of your system.

  • Integrated optical diagnostics for continuous monitoring of fiber optic paths
  • Floating switch contact for leading alarm generation in relation to critical fiber optic paths
  • High-quality electrical isolation between all interfaces
  • Supply voltage and data signals routed through the DIN rail connector
  • Redundant power supply by means of optional system power supply unit
  • Approved for use in Ex zone 2
