Piggyback modules are a practical solution for distributing voltage from ATX power supplies in systems based on CompactPCI buses. Their main task is to efficiently transfer voltage to the system bus without occupying expansion slots, which allows for a compact and orderly structure of the entire system.
The module is mounted mechanically – using screws – on the rear side of the bus. This solution minimizes interference and ensures durability and stable operation even in demanding industrial environments. Piggyback modules are often used in embedded systems, industrial automation, and rugged computers.
