Universal backplanes can be divided into two types – with through-connected signal lines and without through-connected signal lines.
Backplanes with through-connected signal lines house C96F connectors in the 4 HP slot pitch and the available backplane width is 42 HP (10 slots) / 84 HP ( 10 / 21 / 28 slots). In case of backplanes without through-connected signal lines (the only available width is 84 HP), the user decides on the independent and selective creation of signal connection network.
