These inductive sensors were developed especially according to the DESINA specification for harsh applications in machine tools. The additional diagnostics output monitors the function of the switch and the cable. A "high" signal is output as long as the sensor is operating properly. Balluff DESINA-specification sensors meet the requirements of ISO 23570 Part 1: "Industrial automation systems and integration - Distributed installation in industrial applications - Part 1: Sensors and actuators".
