The precise torque limit function allows accurate control of the output torque, protecting your machines from sudden load fluctuations.

High-speed response
In Open-loop vector control: the speed response is 5Hz. In closed loop vector control (with PG feedback) the Speed response 40 Hz. Our unique high-speed current vector control enables your machine to respond more rapidly to speed-reference changes. The speed remains constant even if the load fluctuates.

High starting torque
With close loop vector control, a high-torque operation of 150% or more is possible from zero speed. With open-loop vector control, a high-torque operation of 150% at 0.5 Hz is possible from a low speed of 1/100 when CT is selected.

  • Torque Control : The motor torque can be controlled freely using external references. This function is effective for winding and rewinding motions of winders.
  • Droop Control : This function arbitrarily sets the slip of the motor. This function is effective for material handling machines such as cranes and conveyors.
  • Zero-servo Control : No matter if an external force is applied or an offset is set for an analogue reference input, this function stops a motor electrically and forcibly when the frequency (speed) reference drops to the zero-speed level.
  • Rotational Auto Tuning : (open-loop vector control, closed loop vector control) Use this auto tuning for the applications where high-starting torque and high speed control accuracy are required.
  • Various I/O interfaces :The VarispeedG5HP supports various I/O interfaces with 8 (conventionally 7) digital inputs and 3 analogue reference input terminals (conventionally 2). Analog reference card (AI-14U and AI-14B) and digital reference card (DI-08 and DI-16H2) are also available. Input terminal logic can switch between sink (0V common) or source (+24V common). An external +24V power supply is also available for selecting the signal input.
  • Supporting global field networks : All models are fully compliant with RS-422/485 (MEMOBUS/Modbus protocol) standards. The networks are available by using communications option cards. Now you can connect to hosts and PLC, implement centralized management of production equipment and reduce wiring easily.
  • Countermeasures to minimize harmonics current : All Models are equipped with a built-in DC reactor to minimize harmonics current. They also provide an optional 12-pulse input to prevent current distortion.
