DC motor braking systems ensure that electric motors are stopped quickly and safely after the power supply is disconnected. They are used where it is important to reduce coasting time, e.g. in industrial machines, conveyors or lifting systems.
The DOLD motor brake modules available in our range enable precise setting of the braking current and braking time – depending on the model, up to 600 A and 320 seconds. Devices such as the BI 9034 and GB 9034 offer additional functions, including zero speed monitoring, temperature control and relay outputs for signalling the operating status. Selected models (e.g. BN 9034) also provide optional thermal monitoring, which increases the level of system protection.
Some devices, such as the BI 9028 and BL 9228, are soft starters with a DC motor braking function, allowing for smooth start-up and equally controlled stopping of the drive in a single module. This solution increases the durability of the mechanics and reduces stress on the installation.
Devices in this series are compatible with DIN rail mounting systems and available in various widths – from 45 mm to 112 mm – for easy integration with existing equipment. DOLD products are distinguished by their high quality and compliance with the required industry standards.
