TVS DIOTEC protective diodes, available from ELTRON, are reliable protective components that prevent damage to sensitive electronic circuits caused by overvoltage. They act as fast protective barriers, limiting the voltage to a safe level in the event of an impulse, e.g. atmospheric discharge, network switching or electromagnetic interference. The range includes models with reverse voltages from 6.5 V to 495 V and breakdown voltages of up to 605 V.
DIOTEC TVS diodes are available in both SMD (surface mount) and THT (through-hole) versions. A wide range of housings – from SOD-323, SMA, SMB, SMC to TO-263AB/D2PAK and classic DO-15 – allows them to be used in various operating environments: from miniaturised portable systems to industrial and power applications. Models with a power dissipation of up to 1500 W and a cut-off current of up to 100 A are suitable for automotive and telecommunications systems, IoT devices, and power and signal lines.
The ELTRON range includes, among others, the 1.5SMC series (with a cut-off voltage of up to 686 V), classic SMBJ with low operating voltage (e.g. 1.0SMBJ5.0A – 5 V) and higher protection variants up to several hundred volts – ideal for protecting power buses, HV systems, sensors and industrial interfaces. A wide range of voltages, powers and response times allows for precise selection of the component to suit the project requirements.
