Drive your automation forward: the manufacturer-independent system is particularly suitable for reliable data transmission applications.
Do you want to rely on a proven system to handle your automation? The CANopen communication protocol is based on CAN (Controller Area Network) and is mainly used in automation technology. The CAN in Automation (CiA) organization is responsible for the communication protocol, which has also been standardized in European standard EN 50325-4.
CANopen represents an extension of the actual CAN protocol to include the application layer as a communication profile. The device and communication profiles in the object dictionary define the communication of specific device groups: for example, device profile CiA 401 describes the I/O modules.
Data is exchanged using two object types:
Communication is based on an adapted master/slave architecture: one device is the master and is responsible for network management (NMT). All other devices are implemented as slaves.
In addition, the producer/consumer and client/server communication models can be used with CANopen.
Our bus couplers enable the flexible Inline automation kit to be operated on CANopen networks in the control cabinet.
Assemble your own Inline station. The station can be inserted at any point in the network using the fieldbus coupler. With regard to the architecture, the fieldbus coupler is a slave in the CANopen network and the master in the local bus.
Use the Inline Block I/O module for low and average numbers of I/Os. Thanks to the ultra-flat design, it is suitable for use in a confined space, such as in terminal boxes.
The Fieldline product range from Phoenix Contact is available for distributed automation in the field. The devices meet IP65/IP67 protection and are designed for harsh environments in close proximity to the station.
In the case of Fieldline Stand-Alone devices, the fieldbus connection and I/O level are integrated directly. Use them in the field in highly distributed applications where only a few digital I/O points are required.
For the first time ever, an infrastructure kit in copper and fiber optic technology is available with the PSI-REP and PSI-MOS modular repeater concept.
The network structure is optimized by means of potential segmentation. This offers you virtually unlimited options with regard to the network topology.
At the same time, transmission speed and system availability are maximized – thanks to isolated error limiting or redundant installation concepts.
