High transmission speed, low attenuation, no electromagnetic problems: fiber optic cables have become established in industrial applications. The portfolio includes cables sold by the meter and pre-assembled cables. You can choose between POF fibers, HCS/PCS fibers, and GOF fibers with 62.5 and 50 µm core diameter in multi mode.

Your advantages

  • Wide product range with all common fiber types sold by the meter
  • Assembled cables with all standard connectors in customer-specific lengths
  • Fast assembly in the field using professional tools
  • High-quality cables for all fieldbuses

The right fiber type

Taking path length, data rates, and ambient conditions into consideration, choose the right type of fiber for your application:

  • POF (polymer optical fiber) for short transmission paths up to 100 m and a maximum data rate of up to 100 Mbps
  • PCS (polymer-clad fiber) and HCS (hard-clad silica) for moderate transmission paths up to 500 m and a maximum data rate of up to 1 Gbps
  • GOF (glass optical fiber) for long transmission paths of 2 to 10 km and a maximum data rate of up to 10 Gbps

Easy assembly

Professional tools are available to ensure reliable fiber optic cabling.

HCS and POF fibers

For consistent attenuation values, use connectors with established clamping technology. HCS and POF fibers are held in the ferrule. For POF, the end faces are cut in a way that can be reproduced. For HCS, they are cleaved and broken with high precision.

GOF fibers

GOF fiber types are assembled by means of patented bonding. The end faces are then sanded and polished.

Fiber optic tools from Phoenix Contact enable you to complete all the steps in one go.
