Autonics SFD safety switches – access blocking without locking, available at ELTRON

The SFD series are Autonics safety door switches with a locking function, designed to monitor the status of safety doors on industrial machines. Unlike models with locking, these devices do not hold the door closed by electromagnetic force – their main task is to detect the opening/closing of guards and transmit a signal to the control system, which responds accordingly (e.g. by stopping the machine).

Each SFD switch is equipped with a separate activator and a rotatable head that can be set in 5 positions (top, sides), which facilitates integration with door designs with different opening directions. There are 6 types of activators available, and the switch itself is available in versions with a metal or plastic head, allowing the device to be adapted to the working environment.

SFD safety switches available from ELTRON come in configurations with screw connectors (easy maintenance) and M12 connectors (easy installation). There are also various contact configurations to choose from: 1NC + 1NO, 2NC, 2NC + 1NO, 3NC – making it possible to adapt the configuration to the machine's safety system.

The devices comply with the following standards:

  • IEC/EN 60947-5-1
  • EN ISO 14119
  • GS-ET-19
  • UL 508
  • S-Mark

SFD are safety switches with locking without interlocking, designed for applications where a door open signal is sufficient – without the need for physical locking. Ideal for simple guards, light flaps, inspection panels and service covers.
