Long-standing partnership between ELTRON and Mersen

ELTRON's cooperation with Mersen dates back to when the manufacturer was still operating under the name Ferraz Shawmut. Over the years, with the development of technology, acquisitions, and rebranding, the Mersen brand has become a global leader in the field of electrical installation protection, surge protection, and power semiconductor protection.

Today, ELTRON, as a long-standing authorized distributor of Mersen in Poland, combines access to a wide product portfolio with application knowledge and design support for customers in industry, railways, renewable energy, and special applications.

From gG/gL and aM fuses to comprehensive power path protection

As the first Mersen distributor in Poland, ELTRON introduced a full portfolio of gG/gL and aM fuses used in low-voltage power distribution. These solutions have been used in both classic industrial switchgear and in power supply systems for technological lines and critical infrastructure.

The expansion of the offer followed Mersen's acquisition of the Austrian company M-Schneider, which specializes in DIN standard fuse equipment. As a result, ELTRON now offers:

• low-voltage disconnectors in strip and cover versions,
• equipment for industrial LV switchgear,
• fuse accessories compliant with European installation standards.

This allows for comprehensive protection of the entire power path, from transformer power supply, through power distribution, to consumption and drives.

ELTRON's specialization: fast fuses for semiconductor protection (aR, gR)

One of the key pillars of Mersen's offering at ELTRON is the protection of power electronic systems. aR and gR fast fuses provide basic protection for:

• converters and inverters,
• AC/DC drives and servo drives,
• UPS systems,
• traction systems, and energy storage systems.

At ELTRON, we do not limit ourselves to selling components. We actively support designers and integrators in selecting fuses in terms of I²t parameters, current-time characteristics, surge current resistance, and selectivity requirements. We also offer replacements for other manufacturers' solutions with Mersen equivalents that comply with regulatory and design requirements.

Surge protection and photovoltaics - AC, DC, and gPV solutions

An important part of Mersen's offering available at ELTRON are surge protection solutions, developed in part thanks to the acquisition of the Spanish company Cirprotec. The portfolio includes:

• AC surge arresters for protecting LV networks and switchgear,
• DC surge arresters for photovoltaic installations and energy storage systems,
• gPV fuses for protecting strings, DC fields, and PV inverters.

ELTRON actively supports customers in the selection and implementation of complete solutions for 1000 V and 1500 V DC installations, both in the renewable energy sector and in industry.

UL/CSA solutions – support for manufacturers exporting their equipment

ELTRON's offer also includes a full portfolio of Mersen fuses in UL and CSA standards, dedicated to manufacturers of equipment for the US and Canadian markets. It includes, among others, UL Class J, RK, and CC inserts, as well as miniature and automotive solutions.

ELTRON supports its customers as early as the design stage, helping them to select the right safety devices, prepare replacements, and maintain dedicated inventory for OEM projects.

The largest Mersen warehouse in Central Europe - a real advantage for ELTRON

The ELTRON headquarters in Wrocław maintains the largest warehouse of Mersen fuses and equipment in Central Europe. This ensures:

• a very wide range of products,
• short delivery times,
