Datalogic Gryphon 4600: Premium Scanner with AI Technology and Unmatched Performance for Demanding Applications
We are pleased to present the latest series of Gryphon™ 4600 handheld scanners from Datalogic – a premium line designed for the most advanced applications in retail, healthcare, manufacturing, and transport and logistics. These scanners set a new standard for performance, reliability and functionality.
A Revolution in Scanning: The Power of a Dual-Core Processor and Artificial Intelligence (AI)
At the heart of the Gryphon 4600 scanner is a powerful 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, supported by artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms and advanced neural network-based decoding technology. This combination provides a significant increase in scanning speed and reliable reading of all commonly used 1D and 2D codes, including GS1 Digital Link and Digital Watermarking (Digimarc®).
Thanks to advanced algorithms, the Gryphon 4600 excels at decoding damaged, poorly printed or distorted codes. This also enables effective scanning of codes from shiny, reflective or curved surfaces.

Unmatched Range and Optical Flexibility
High Performance (HP) models utilise dual-sensor optics (1.5MP + VGA), providing exceptional code reading capability at unprecedented distances – from very close to far, reaching 100 cm for 13 mil EAN/UPC codes. Increased motion tolerance of 70 IPS allows fast-moving codes to be decoded on the first scan.
The scanner is equipped with dual LED backlighting (white and red) that the user can adjust to the current application. White backlighting is ideal for reading colour barcodes and capturing images, while red backlighting works well in most applications and is essential for handling Digimarc® codes.
Ease of Use and Durability
The ergonomic design of the Gryphon 4600 ensures lightness and comfort, reducing operator fatigue. Intuitive scanning is supported by a highly visible green LED cross-shaped aiming point. Datalogic’s patented “Green Spot” technology and optional vibration provide immediate confirmation of a successful read, which is ideal in quiet (e.g. hospitals, libraries) or noisy work environments.
The scanner is exceptionally durable: it can withstand multiple drops from a height of 1.8 m onto concrete and 2,000 tumbles from 0.5 m. The trigger is tested for 10 million hits, ensuring a long service life, and the entire device has an IP52 rating.

Innovative Power Supply and Wireless Charging
Wireless models use an inductive charging system (Wireless Charging), which eliminates contact damage, significantly reducing total cost of ownership (TCO) and maximising productivity with 24/7 uninterrupted operation.
Users can choose between:
1. A high-capacity lithium-ion battery pack (3250 mAh) that provides over 80,000 scans on a full charge.
2. An innovative SuperCapacitor (battery-free) pack that charges from 10% to 80% in just 10 minutes and allows for approximately 7,000 scans.
Fleet Management and Integration (Datalogic Connect)
The Datalogic Connect platform is an intelligent cloud solution that enables remote monitoring, configuration management, software updates, and advanced real-time device analytics. This allows companies to quickly identify and resolve device issues, minimising operational downtime.
For the healthcare industry, HC (Healthcare) models are available with disinfectant-resistant housings and silver ion-based antimicrobial additives (ISO22196 compliant), which are designed to withstand daily cleaning with strong chemicals.
As a Datalogic Authorised Partner with Diamond status, ELTRON provides comprehensive support for the implementation of the latest scanning technologies.
